The Worldwide Market for waste incineration plants
Waste incineration is on the increase throughout the world. Global capacity has increased from 160 to 200 million tonnes per year in the last decade and is expected to expand to 240 million tonnes per year in the next five years.
The increasing shortage of land for landfilling will require new plants to be built in the metropolitan regions of the world. Areas with high population density are unable to deal with the constantly increasing quantities of waste and are increasingly choosing to use industrial waste incineration. Being in the forefront of this development Europe has limited the landfilling of untreated municipal waste by regulation.
